Friday Kudos – The first one!

It’s back!

If you found ink. because you used to follow Heels or Sneakers, you already know what we’re doing here, and you also know (even if you never admit it out loud) that “Friday Kudos” was the best part of my former endeavor. “Friday Kudos” is the end of the week gratitude, celebrating the truly amazing things and people that happened during the week that deserve a nod for their work and energy. And at the end of “Friday Kudos,”

we’ll kick off the weekend in style! So, read on!

Never lose the childlike wonder. Show gratitude… Don’t complain; just work harder… Never give up.

Kudos to…

Whoever you are, and however you found ink.
On this, the launch week of ink., you got here, and you read this, and you are already a part of a community of positivity and inspiration that I want ink. to be, and that’s awesome! Thank you for being here. I hope it’s worth your time to come back, and I hope it becomes the source of a laugh, a smile, an INKspiring moment that resonates in your world.

Some really great friends.

You will know who you are when you read this, and I would name you outright, but I’m hoping to introduce you more formally when you start guest appearing on ink (which you both promised me you’d do…so too late to back out now, you’re already mentioned in abstract!) But your kudos is actually because we drink wine, watch The Bachelorette, snapchat, and do life together, and this blog is celebrating all those things, so I celebrate you!

Senior classes of 2018 everywhere

As a high school teacher, I must commend you…even if some of you have made me crazy the last 4 years!

Anyone who killed a wasp this week!

Seriously! They are the devil’s playthings, and all wasps go to Hell. Extra kudos to my husband who killed two in our house, and the student who killed one in my classroom. Keep swinging friends. I’m generally a pacifist at heart, but I will wage war against the dangly legged beasts all summer!

And now a new Friday wrap-up segment called…

Kirkland Signature Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

Fun fact, everyone raised in the 1990’s knows the Willamette Valley not because of its wine making prestige, but because it was the final destination of the iconic 8-bit computer game “The Oregon Trail.” After sailing down the Columbia River, the great quest west was complete, and certainly whatever characters hadn’t died of dysentery would have celebrated with a glass of Kirkland Signature Willamette Valley Pinot Noir!

This is a semi-dry red, with a touch of oak. Notes of cherry, plum, and dark berries, add acidity and freshness to the palate, and help to balance to tannins experienced in the finish. If available, the 2015 vintage is excellent, and an award winner! Added bonus, it will only set you back about $15. True, as a Kirkland Signature brand, you will only find it at Costco, but the bottle is worth tagging along with a member friend. Or, check if your Costco allows non-members to purchase liquor. It’s illegal in some places to have memberships for alcohol sales, so you may be able to walk into the liquor department free and clear.

Cheers to your Friday!
