This is ink.!

Thank you for finding ink.

“I’m going to start a blog again!” I announced cavalierly one night on a walk with my husband. I could have asked it. “Do you think I should start a blog?” or, “What do you think about this idea for a blog?” But I was quite certain I was going to do it, and only slightly less certain that people were going to want to read it. And so off I set to choose the blogging site, and buy the domain name, and write my bio, and set up the static pages.

Those were the easy parts!

I’ve blogged before, and I loved it. It was for this reason that I suppose I was drawn back to it. My previous endeavor, Heels or Sneakers, was a story of two journeys: the start of my teaching career and the start of my exploits in distance running. I was twenty four and just starting out on my own, and while I pretended it was about figuring out my place on these two new tracks in my life, it was really about figuring out who I was, and who I was going to be.

At thirty now, I’m sure there is lots of life learning and self discovery left to do, and yet, I’m also certain I know more, if not about life then at least, about myself! I know I feel better about the week if I dress up on Mondays. I know I need to stretch more (though I continue to discover all the ways my body will hate me when I don’t!). I know that my high school students see me as a force to be reckoned with, and on any given day, my husband probably does too! I know that a bottle of wine can get me through just about any evening for just about any occasion, and also that if I drink too much of said bottle, I get a bit of a potty mouth. I know where I’ve realized my full potential, and also where I can continue to push. ink. was a place where I needed to push!

But this is the hard part. Putting the words down…spilling the ink, as it were! What will ink. be? A bit of everything. ThINKs and drINKs, wINKs and lINKS. Bits of inspiration and motivation that got me through running races, through my twenties, through new jobs and new cities, through the first years of marriage…happily through, not grudgingly so as it sounds phrased that way! 😉 Bits of wisdom from those more suited to discuss those things that I’m still trying to grasp. More than anything I hope ink. becomes a community, a small meeting place in the vast expanse of the “cloud” where positivity, light, and fun collide, and the best of us is celebrated.

The official launch of ink. will bring you one full week of new content every day, hopefully giving you a strong sense of what ink. is! Like it. Share it. Follow it through email or on Facebook. Connect with it on Twitter, Pinterest, or Instagram. Or, just check back occasionally to see what’s new! And know that whether you return for the book reviews, the wine list, or the funny, stranger than fiction stories that my life tends to crank out, I hope you find a little something to encourage you to LIVE inkSPIRED.  Kate
