August 2018 – Chill summer jams playlist

In my head, I had a pretty good vacation plan. I wrote posts, scheduled them well. They went live on time and appeared on social media as they normally would have. ink. is still pretty new, so by new blogging standards, the official blogging newbies Facebook support group assured me that I was doing the right thing keeping the content rolling while I was away! This is how blogs survive, the weekly advice post suggested a week before we left. True, they were talking about bloggers that were trying to survive on blog income instead of just passion for writing, but I didn’t want ink. to die either! So I was pretty pleased with how my vacation hiatus turned out. There are even new ink. followers that signed on over the last 16 days, which is awesome! Welcome. If you’re here for the travel stories, there are plenty of adventures (and misadventures) to be shared from our latest Europe excursions in the weeks ahead. If you’re a little overloaded on travel stories from two weeks of preplanned travel posts, don’t worry, things should balance out quite a bit now that we’re back stateside again!

To that end, I was not preplanned enough to have the August playlist up and ready to roll by the time we left, and while I had the best of intentions to tackle the post yesterday while on the couch reorienting to the central standard timezone again, I could not have anticipated the misadventure that was passing out on an Italian train on Sunday afternoon, and then spending the next 48 hours just trying not to puke, faint, or die getting from Milan back to Minneapolis. Like I said, there were some grand misadventures experienced the past two weeks!

So you had to wait for August 2nd for your playlist. I hope it’s worth it. I dig it. August is about the heart, and heat, of summer. Eat a popsicle. Drink a cocktail. Have a bonfire. buds

Grill out. Wear your swimsuit all day long. Read. Dance. Laugh a lot. Soak up the very best of summer while we have it. (Remember fellow Minnesotans, we need this month to last us through a long, cold, dark winter!!) These are the feelings and activities that inspired this month’s list! Enjoy and cheers!

  1. Lying on the couch recupping from time zone change is off my bucket list and so that is why I no longer want to travel to Europe. At 30 it is no fun but at 80 it is a nightmare!! Enjoy your tales. Love Gr. Jean
