Spring cleaning isn’t just about your closets and junk drawers. It’s about getting into all the nooks and crannies of your life that have been collecting a little clutter and dust and figuring out how to breathe a little fresh air into the places that have gone dull and grey through the long winter. I love that so many faithful followers have stuck with ‘Ink’ as long as they have, but if we’re being honest, I’ll be the first to admit that this winter things started to get a bit cluttered and chaotic in my digital space as much as my personal space.
Which is why my spring cleaning this year has included an overhaul of the inky.blog page, now rebranded as katelaack.com! It’s cleaner. It’s more user friendly. And hopefully it helps you find the information you’re really looking for without scrolling through months of old blog posts looking for the right title!
Also, it helps me organize my thoughts into some designated areas, and keep track of some projects that hopefully you’ll follow with as much enthusiasm as you have my weekly musings. New page features include “Josh and Kate build a house” where I’ll be specifically focusing on what it takes to build and design a house from the ground up…and I do mean with my own two hands…(well, four hands…Josh’s two plus mine…plus all the friends and favors we’re likely to call in to help!). The “Airbnb” page hosts our Rochester rental information for the three properties currently available, as well as the design and renovation details for our fourth property, set to be remodelled later this month, to open in May. The “wine” page…well that’s self explanatory!
Moreover, the new space gives me a chance to house some additional writing I’ve done, along with projects I’m working on that wouldn’t fit in the regular blog space. Some of my freelance work is among my favorite things that I’ve written, and though I wouldn’t necessarily blog it, I now have a place to share it. It’s my quirkiest fun fact that I have a designated IMDB page as a “writer.” They even just approved my personal mini bio! 😂
With these new projects becoming the focus of the spring, it’s possible that Ink as it’s been developed thus far, will have to change a bit too. You can still expect weekly wine content on Fridays, and my hope is to continue to share thoughts and ideas that really matter. That said, I don’t want to create digital content clutter. So look for thoughtful commentary, curated ideas, and lots of remodel and construction updates in the weeks ahead.
If you’ve stuck with my through inky.blog, my hope it’s that you’ll love katelaack.com even that much more! Thanks for being here, and as always,
