Wine for your weekend: Throwback because it’s that fun!

A few weekends ago, we went to a chef’s table dinner with our wine loving friends, which ended up being an amazing meal featuring hand formed gnocchi, slow braised short ribs and hand whipped chocolate mousse. Each course also featured a wine pairing meant to showcase the food. The last one, paired with the mousse, was one I instantly recognized!

Featured on the blog back in November of 2018, Stella Rosso: Rosa is a perfect compliment to your dessert pairings…or as a dessert beverage/night cap by itself. It’s got a distinct, fruity, sparkle that’s instantly recognizable, and widely distributed under $10, is readily available at a very attractive price point. Everyone at the dinner table loved the bright fruit flavors and the juiciness of the wine. It is a sweet, sparkling red, so it may be limited in what it’s paired with. It’s also not excellent for every mood. But if you’re looking for a bright, fun wine that’s pretty low ABV, has a lot of juiciness, and brings the sweetness, this is a great pick! Here’s what else I had to say about it last fall!

FLASHBACK POST!

Image result for stella rossoSometimes you want a big, bold, complex, intense wine that tickles your tongue and plays to your senses. Other times, you want something that goes down like juice. Light, way to easy to drink, a little but of fizz, and a lot of fruit flavor Stella Rosso – Rosa, is your super drinkable, a little bit of summer in a glass, choice. Rosa is the original Stella Rosso, and you can’t argue with a classic. Semi-sweet, semi-sparkling, plush with flavors of strawberries and raspberries, there’s a touch of tartness to help balance out the sweetness of the overall flavor profile of the wine which also pairs nicely with spicy dishes and bitter dark chocolate. We paired our bottle with chicken fajitas and it was a summertime fiesta at the end of a long, dark winter. At only 5% alcohol, it’s going to take A LOT of Stella Rosso – Rosa to bring on the red wine headache. So relax, open the bottle, and keep the good times flowing all night!

Cheers!
